Augmented Reality in Yearbook

Project Details

In my senior year of high school, I was given two editorial positions on the yearbook staff, one of which was social media editor. After researching possible projects I could take on, I was most excited by the possibility of adding augmented reality to the book.

A photo can only do so much justice to an orchestra performance or a spirit rally. Now, when you hover your phone over a photo of the dance show, you can see a compilation video of every single dance. There are also clips celebrating the year's memes (like the dress and left shark), classroom antics, and spring content that couldn't get in the book before publication.

I was responsible for filming and editing videos, connecting them to the book via the app, and marketing the new feature to the school.
